SAMBARAMA!!

In Spring 2015 Mad Alice Theatre Company in partnership with Leisureworks and Jack Drum Arts presented SAMBARAMA!!!

An exciting, fun, energizing and creative project for children ages 6 -12 yrs at Blackhill Comrades Club.

Evening sessions were held throughout term as well as sessions during the Easter holidays.

40 children, who joined the project having had taster sessions in their schools, worked with professional actors, musicians and artists, learned Samba drumming and  drama and made their own carnival mask, created their own play and performed to friends and families. Some children also achieved their ‘Arts Award Awards,

Children tried new things, discovered new talents, felt good, laughed, boosted their confidence and surprised themselves.

The Project was funded by Derwent Valley Area Action Partnership for children living in the Derwent valley AAP area.

ave Our Sandwich is a fun, highly participatory new theatre show for children and families.

Commissioned by Durham County Council in summer 2023 as a means to inspire, educate and engage echildren in healthy eating, Mad Alice do so with such a whacky, highly energetic clownesque and physical theatre style show.

With live music, singing, lots of slaptick humour and even a quiz, the audience join Cordelia professor Queen of Carrots and Henk who is very hungry for approx 55mins of joy!

The show has toured to schools, community venues and  has also performed outdoors at both Seaham and Bishop Auckland Food Festival to great applause.

d by designers. It's easy on the eyes and a great go-to font for titles, paragraphs & more.
